Tachi Maiana, M.A.

I am dedicated to the work of reconnection: between souls, bodies, individuals, culture, nature and cosmos.

Decades of study and practice in Ecopsychology and transpersonal approaches to wholeness have convinced me that disconnection from our bodies and from the earth is the wound beneath our suffering. All the escalating ways we hurt ourselves, each other and the earth—from epidemics of despair and depression to politics of xenophobia and war—can be traced to the pain of separation, the illusion of exile, and the villification of the other—within and without.

My life’s work is to be a guide for all called to outgrow the shadows this wound casts in us and in our world, and come home to belonging, kinship, and collaboration with the sacred.

My devotion to this homecoming is both a calling and a necessity. I am a trail runner and yoga practitioner, and my ability to navigate challenges and stay balanced depends on my practices. Writing and playing music is how I metabolize despair into prayer. As a ceremonialist, I invoke the support of vegetal allies to expand my perception. And as an activist I believe that all our inner work is meant to lead us towards reciprocity, stewardship, and the giving of our gifts.

May we never forget that the sensitivity that makes our world so heart-breaking is the very power that will get us through this initiation, arm in arm.
