Mika Taia

As an educator, counsellor and ceremonialist, I offer transformational pathways rooted in traditional wisdom, informed by emergent science, and guided by apprenticeship to sacred plants. My own journey has convinced me of the value of devotion to shamanic practices, and of the importance of embedding ritual in a web of modalities for embodied integration. It is an honor to share these technologies for consciousness expansion, in a sanctuary dedicated to access and inclusivity. I welcome all who are called towards deep connection with the healing intelligence of nature, within and without.

Attuned to the transpersonal and the embodied, the nondual and the relational, I situate my offerings at the confluence of ecopsychology, yoga, psychedelic praxis, and sacred activism. My bundle of offerings draws from decades of education and training in engaged world psychologies and mystical traditions. Influential mentors include: Joanna Macy, Chellis Glendinning, Malidoma Somé, Stephen Foster, Meredith Little, David Abram, Wade Davis, Joy Harjo, Martin Prechtel, Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Robin Wall Kimmerer, and Josh Schrei. As a longtime committed practitioner and lead musician in the Santo Daime—a syncretic entheogenic lineage from Brazil—my work is grounded in the animist cosmovision alive in the medicine of the forest. A deep bow of gratitude to my plant teachers and elders in the Amazon.

I am committed to solidarity with movements for indigenous sovereignty, and reciprocity with the wisdom-keepers who have tended sacred plant traditions for millennia. My work is gender-identity and poly-affirming, and grounded in decolonial, anti-racist, feminist and neuro-queer theory. I speak English and Spanish. Services are available at a sliding scale for all people with marginalized identities and limited resources.

Endless gratitude to the Coast Salish tribes who are the original stewards of the land I call home.
