Meyana Jacobsen, M.A.
The wisdom of the earth has guided me since childhood and led me to my dedication to Ecopsychology. Decades of study at the intersection of transpersonal, depth, ecological and yogic approaches to wholeness, alongside direct inquiry in ceremonial contexts, has convinced me that disconnection from our bodies and the body of nature is the wound underlying the proliferation of suffering in our world. My mission is to help weave humans back into relational coherence through felt experiences of communion with creation.
This homecoming has four dimensions: body, soul, nature, and cosmos. As a yoga practitioner and forest runner, I am in awe of the somatic intelligence activated in us when we meet our bodies with curiosity and reverance. In a culture that normalizes numbness and shame, routines that restore vitality are essential to happiness. Soul work is too—writing poetry and playing music is how I metabolize despair into prayer.
When the world breaks my heart, the forest reminds me that what is real is endlessly regenerative. This love is the force that directs me to ceremony, and it is in ceremony that I am gifted with glimpses of cosmic patterns that help me understand our collective initiation in context. In these hope-crushing times, my resilience depends on the visionary shamanic arts that align me with the divine.
As a mother of two, parenting is both the temple where my vows are tested daily, and the source of my greatest inspiration to live in service to the emergence of a culture of loving reciprocity, where all our children—human and more than human—are valued, protected and cherished.
A deep bow to the teachers, mentors and allies who have had my back and blessed my path. All my love and gratitude to the vegetal, animal, ancestral and animate forces who never stop reflecting me, teaching me, and guiding me to the feet of the mother of life.
